BSA Troop # 21

About Us

Troop 21 is chartered by Deerfield United Methodist Church. We meet at the church Monday evenings year round from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm. The address of the church is 2757 US Rt. 22 & 3, Maineville, OH 45039.

Troop 21 is a truly led by the boys, and for the boys; it is a place where the boys and their adult leaders create a fun and exciting learning environment -- a troop where boys are encouraged and accepted.  We believe in the boys’ abilities to learn outdoor skills and to grow into leadership with the help of adults who are formally trained in the Scouting program and who are committed to helping the boys succeed.  The patrol method is taught and reinforced at every meeting, outing and events so that each Scout, when he finally graduates from the Troop, will be as confident in his leadership ability as he is in his Scouting skills.

We believe:

  • Troops should be led by the boys
  • Scouts should have fun
  • the Troop should be active with regular planned outings
  • every boy deserves a trained adult leader
  • the patrol method works
  • every boy should be given the chance to succeed in a safe environment where he is taught Scouting skills and provided with the opportunity to practice them
  • boys should be trained in leadership skills as well as Scouting skills
  • adults should lead by example, allowing youth leaders to run the Troop
  • age appropriate activities should be provided on outings
  • laughter is a healthy part of meetings
  • accountability is a part of responsibility
  • being prepared is not just a nice motto
  • mutual respect is paramount to cooperation and strength
  • that we can all learn from each other
